My latest movie project is Change the World in Five Minutes, Every Day at School.
It’s a dynamic short for SBS TV and Film Australia, following a class of year five and six kids as they spend the first five minutes of every day at school taking action to change the world in positive ways. It’s about getting fired up and doing something about the state of your community and the planet. I hope the film will spark a mini-revolution in our schools with classes across the country taking action every single day. The film has an online community and you can add your own world-changing film here.
The movie is based on the book, Change the World for Ten Bucks. Check out their suggestions on world-saving actions here.
If you’d like to join the movement and get your class or school involved in changing the world every day at school or you’d like to suggest a 5-minute world-changing action, e me!
I am touring the film to schools, with a session that inspires small, do-able, world-changing ideas. I’m also doing sessions on how students can create their own world-changing films. You can contact Helen at Show and Tell for booking details.
Ten Inspiring Teens
I am hoping to build a list of ten teens getting motivated and doing inspiring things.
If you have an inspiring story about yourself or someone you know, send it to: inspire@tristanbancks.com. You don’t have to have a book deal or be single-handedly saving the planet. It can be something small that you do every day that you think might inspire people.
5-minute world-changing action ideas!
* Get yr class to email the PM and tell him how you feel about nuclear power.
* Turn off lights and air-con for five minutes. Did you survive?
* Chat 2 a random person in your class, someone u never speak to.
* Does your school have a vege patch and do you recycle paper, glass and plastic? Why not? Choose some class representatives and schedule a 5-minute chat with your principal.
