It’s Australian Children’s Book Week and I’ve spent the past few days warming up by visiting some amazing schools in Melbourne. We talked story and creative process, I read some of my work-in-progress, we transmedia-brainstormed using Story Scrapbook. Lots of fun.
Here are some pics of my adventures. (And don’t forget to enter my Book Week competition to win a free Skype author talk.)

Penleigh and Essendon Grammar students have been taking Book Week’s ‘Read Across the Universe’ theme very seriously with some resourceful rocket-fuelled creations.
And cake. Book Week season is notorious for obscene over-consumption of cake. I’ll be documenting my weight gain, raised blood pressure and tooth loss on this blog in coming days. Extraordinary, really, the sacrifices I make to inspire kids to read.
Happy Book Week.
