Sydney Writers Festival Family Day 2021 was a blast. Some extraordinarily talented illustrators, writers and performers came together to entertain big crowds at Sydney’s Carriageworks. It was great to see old friends, meet new ones and just be out of the house doing things in the world again. Thanks to festival organisers, Amelia Lush in particular, volunteers, fellow creatives and kids and parents in attendance for making it such a memorable weekend.
Ginger Meggs Book Launch at Sydney Writers Festival Family Day
I was excited to launch my new Ginger Meggs 100th birthday book of brand new stories with a bit of history, a video book trailer, a reading, live drawing (thanks to guest artist Jules Faber) and a very special cake. Here are some photos from the day. Thanks to Dani Vee, Rebecca Toltz, Remy Lai and Readers Review, whose photos I have included below. It was so good to have family, some of my oldest friends, author colleagues, my publisher Zoe Walton and editor Niki Foreman all in attendance. And great coverage for the book from the Sun-Herald and other outlets on the day of the launch. I’ve included a snippet and a link below to the article in the Herald. 😉
The book is out now. I’d love you to take a look. You can ask your local bookseller or order online here. More info on the book, a sample chapter, video book trailer and more here.
