The cover for my 2023 crime-thriller for middle-graders, Scar Town, has been released! It’s by Christa Moffitt, the brains and art behind Christabella Designs and I think it’s my favourite of all the covers that Christa has designed for my books. (Christa has also done the covers for Two Wolves, The Fall, Detention, Cop & Robber & Ginger Meggs.)
The official book launch date is 1 August 2023 and I’m excited for it to be out in the world. To pre-order, please request it at your local bookstore or see the Scar Town page on the Penguin Random House Australia site.
Here’s what it’s about:
Seven years after Old Scarborough was drowned, a house is emerging from the water. Will and his friends Dar and Juno dare each other to explore it. But when they find bones – and a stash of cash – they realise they’re not the only ones interested in its secrets. Now they’re fighting for their lives against the men who want what they found. Will can’t leave the mystery alone, though. What if the bones belong to his missing dad?
A DANGEROUS JOURNEY TO UNCOVER THE TRUTH IN A TOWN THAT WANTS THE PAST TO STAY BURIED.
If you’re aged 11+ or you know an 11-14-ish year-old who needs a book that promises to hook them and keep them reading, I’d love you to consider Scar Town. If you’d like to read the opening chapters of the book ahead of the release date, just click here or on the image below. And if you need something thrilling in the meantime, try one of my other crime-mystery-suspense novels.
